Research Data Engineer

<p>Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Research Data Engineer to join our Data team. Data is a cornerstone of HRT’s trading strategies, serving as the raw fuel that powers research, automated trading, and risk management. <br><br>You will be responsible for developing the end to end of onboarding vendor data, cleaning and validating, normalizing, and featurizing the data for alpha research, as well as ensuring high-quality service via rigorous data checks and alerts.<br><br>HRT does not have information siloes! You will work directly with researchers to build datasets that add value to our trading strategies while developing expertise in one area of data and how alpha is built from careful data analysis.</p> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Responsibilities</span></h2> <ul> <li>Onboard, normalize, and featurize datasets for statistical modeling research</li> <li>Serve as the subject matter expert for datasets you onboard, building expertise in some area of data</li> <li>Partner with the sourcing team to identify and evaluate new data procurement opportunities</li> <li>Analyze data to identify and improve alpha</li> <li>Manage the full end-to-end data pipeline, from raw vendor ingestion to refined feature sets</li> <li>Provide on-call support for data issues during normal business hours</li> <li>Design and implement automated data quality checks and monitoring alerts</li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Qualifications</span></h2> <ul> <li>Strong Python programming skills</li> <li>Proficiency in data science methodologies </li> <li>Fluency in data analysis and statistics</li> <li>Demonstrated interest in finance</li> <li>Exceptional attention to detail</li> <li>Undergr
