Job Description SummaryThis position will be responsible for executing Protection and Control Engineering and Consulting services in Transmission, Distribution and Industrial markets in the US and Canada. Reporting through the Grid Automation North America Operations Director, the Power System Protection and Control Engineer will be part of the regional Projects and Services execution team. Activities will include designing, programming, testing and commissioning protection and control related applications for power system design and substation automation projects.Job DescriptionDesign and delivery of complex protection solutions for generation, transmission, distribution systems for electrical utilities and industrial clients.Perform engineering studies and analyses such as: short circuit, load flow, ground grid design, Lightening protection studies, Insulation coordination, arc-flash studies, protective device coordination, etc.Create relay setting files to include programming of Protection and Control Elements, Control Logic and Communications settings for GE and third-party protective relays.Test customized Protection and Control solutions both in house and at customer installationsProvide factory acceptance test plans and testing services to validate protection designs for customer witnessingSite acceptance test planning and field support up to and including commissioning of new applicationsAssist software tool development to automate the engineering process internally and externally with key utility partnersParticipate in project meetings with project managers and customers on technical discussionsRequired qualifications: Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical or Computer EngineeringFive (5) years of experience in design, study, and analysis of electric power systems.Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Professional Engineer license in at least one statePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of power system steady and transient analysis, fault study and protecti
