Job Description SummaryThe Senior Materials Engineer will work within the Plant Services Engineering (PSE) Materials team to support all business units within GEH/GNF across The Senior Materials Engineer will work within the Plant Services Engineering (PSE) Materials team to support all business units within GE Hitachi Nuclear (GEH) and Global Nuclear Fuels (GNF) across Nuclear Engineering. The role involves technical support developing new material technology, new plant design efforts, materials selection, manufacturing, characterizing material behavior, and performing design analyses for both plant and fuel applications. This role requires a high degree of work management rigor, technical problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration with other teams within both GEH and GNF businesses and functions.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:As the Senior Engineer - Materials you will:Provide technical leadership for BWR plant and fuel related materials deliverables within both GEH and GNF businesses.Work with other engineering leaders to advance risk-informed designs, as neededPerform technical evaluations, analyses and verifications in the areas of BWR nuclear plant and fuel material applications.Perform work in compliance with NRC regulated policies and proceduresInterface with internal and external customers on technical issuesSupport Company initiativesMeet customer commitments and drive continuous improvementRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Material Science, Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical or similar).Minimum 8 years of experience in a materials engineering roleMinimum 5 years of experience in a nuclear related industryEligibility RequirementsThe preferred work locations is the Wilmington, NC Headquarters but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
